tie thirty three

Thursday 28th February 2013

A thin tie from the early to mid-eighties ......possibly German

Strange bottom is not a design feature
It is where I dipped it in gravy
and couldn't get the stain out
(so I folded it over and stitched it up!)

tie thirty one

Tuesday26th February 2013

A very straight forward silk tie - a dark shirt / dark tie combo

(must choose a more flamboyant tie tomorrow to make up for this one!)

Back to school so here's my old school tie (1966).

I should explain that for safeguarding reasons, as a teacher, I cannot allow comments to this blog (hence why they are disabled).

day twenty six

Tuesday 12th February 2013

As it was the 50th annivesary of 'Please Please Me' yesterday and various artists reproduced the songs at Abby Road in 24hrs I am wearing my Beatles tie in honour of the event.

The tie is actually Magical Mystery Tour (but it was the best reference I had)

day twenty five

Monday 11th February 2013

Chinese New Year yesterday ... used my Chinese tie last week so here is one from Hong Kong.

It is the tie of the Royal Navy China Fleet Club - which used to stand on Lockhart Road - I expect it no longer exists.

I have also had a new year hair cut!

day twenty three

Thursday 7th February 2013

A tie someone gave me in the late eighties I think. It has an aeroplane logo with the initials DCCC on it.

Having Googled DCCC to see what it represented I got:
  • Durham County Cricket Club
  • Deaf Camping & Caravaning Club
  • and the reg. code for a BAe Systems small jet aircraft G-DCCC

day twenty two

Wednesday 6th February 2013

A very delicate tie from Suzhou - China - should have saved it for Chinese New Year this weekend.

Tuesday 5 February 2013

day twenty one

Tuesday 5th February 2013

This was very trendy .............. three or four decades ago.

Monday 4 February 2013

day twenty

Monday 4th February 2013

I thought this tie was rather non-descript until the first person who saw it said it was amazing!

Friday 1 February 2013
